Play group’s 2014 schedule set

Following the seasonal A Tuna Christmas, the Azle Arts Association’s Popcorn Players have announced the lineup of productions for 2014.
The Players have performed a variety of productions over the years like melodramas, comedies, musicals, and dramas.
The wide selection of shows the Players produce appeal to a broad audience and ensure there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s the 2014 lineup:

• Rex’s Exes by Jones, Hope & Wooten; directed by Monica Goth. Show dates: Jan. 31, Feb. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9.
• Opal is a Diamond by John Patrick; directed by Monica Goth. Show dates: March 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30.
• The Popcorn Players’ Kernel Kids Return in: A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court by Mark Twain; directed by Carol Braden and Monica Goth. Show dates: April 25, 26, 27 and May 2, 3, 4.
• Taming the Wild, Wild West in a Dress or… Let’s Give the Villain the Slip!! (Annual Melo-Drama!) by Billy St John; directed by Rita Davis. Show dates: May 30, 31 and June 1, 6, 7 and 8. Audition date: March 26, 2014
• 2014 Kernel Kids Workshop/performance, directed by Carol Braden and Monica Goth. Show dates: July 25, 26, 27 and August 1, 2, 3. Workshop dates: tentatively scheduled for July 13-24.
• An Evening of Culture: Faith County II by Mark Landon Smith; directed by Barry Ingle. Show dates: Aug. 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24.
• Bloody Murder by Ed Sala; directed by Carol Braden. Show dates: Oct. 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12.
• Farndale Avenue… Christmas Carol by McGillivray and Zerlin; directed by Monica Goth. Show dates: Dec. 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14
