1928 – 2013
Mary Jane Forrester died peacefully in her sleep Sept. 15, 2013.
As per Mary Jane’s wishes, no public memorial will be held. Her ashes will be scattered among the beautiful Texas bluebonnets next spring by her son, Jerry.
Mary Jane was born in Alvord, Dec. 28, 1928. By the world’s standards, she did nothing extraordinary. She didn’t have an exciting career however, raising three children on her own provided all the excitement she needed. She never wrote a book, though she could have with her flair for drama and her superb imagination. She never sang a song for the world to hear, but how she loved to sing with her sisters in younger years! She always put her children first. She never danced with the stars here on earth, but she made sure her children got to go to any school dance they wanted to attend.
Survivors include her children, Diane (Hughes) Williams of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Elaine (Hughes) Baber of Glade Park, Colorado and Jerry Hughes of Azle; sister, Frances Van Mark of Longmont, Colorado; brother, Robert Forrester of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
