Police were called to the 400 block of Beverly Road shortly before 10 p.m. when a man reported being assaulted by his ex-girlfriend when he arrived to pick up their 18-month-old child for court-ordered visitation.

According to Azle police spokesman Cpl. Z. Hatton, the woman was nowhere to be found when police arrived, but the man told officers his ex-girlfriend, Dara Lynn Smith, 33, wearing a bra – and nothing else – had come out of the house and an argument ensued before Smith began striking the victim in the face and neck as he sat in his pickup.
