West Nile in Weatherford

October 16, 2013

BY MARK K. CAMPBELL

Trapped mosquitoes in Weatherford have tested posi-tive for West Nile Disease.

On Oct. 10, the city was no-tified of the infected bugs.

In March, the city had insti-tuted a Mosquito Surveillance and Response Plan (MSRP) which involved the setting of special traps in five areas throughout the town.

Those areas were at the in-tersection of Pamela Drive and Hickory Lane, west to the in-tersection of Hilltop Drive and Clear Lake Road, and south-east to Santa Fe Drive – the entire Briarwood subdivision was included.
