Robert Lee “Bob” Bettis of Azle, Texas, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on June 23, 2015.
Services were Friday, June 26, 2015 at First United Methodist Church of Azle where he was a lifelong member, with Dr. Scott Youngblood officiating. Burial was at Ash Creek Cemetary.
Bob was born on Feb. 1, 1946 to J.R. and Betty Jean Cannon Bettis. He was a lifelong resident of Azle and graduated from Azle High School in 1964. He retired from the Tarrant Regional Water District, where he was Lake Superintendent. He enjoyed team roping and hunting. Pamela Fain, 59, loving mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in White’s Azle Chapel.
Pamela was born Sept. 7, 1955 in Clifton to Jim Thomas and Mildred Modawell Newman. She had a very special fondness for her animals.
Survivors include sons, Darrick Embrey and Darren Embrey; grandchildren, Megan Tapp, Hunter Embrey, Kaylee Embrey, Dakota Embrey, Casey Embrey and Jenny Embrey; husband, Jim Bob Fain; and other family members and friends.

Duane Auvenshine, 63, passed away on June 22, 2015, in Azle.
A graveside service was held in Veal Station on Friday, June 26, at 10 a.m. A visitation was held on Thursday, June 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Azleland Cemetery, under the direction of Roberts Family Affordable Funeral Home.
Duane loved music and played drums. He was a master carpenter and a great and loving son, brother, and devoted father and granddad.

Stephen L. Harms, 68, passed away after suffering from Alzheimer’s Friday, June 19, 2015.
A visitation was held Monday at Ash Creek Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Grace Community Church, 3215 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ash Creek Baptist Church Next Harvest Fund or the Fort Worth Alzheimer’s Association.

Michael “Mike” Stark, Jr. 45, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Azle, 1017 Boyd Road, Azle, 76020. Interment at Boonsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church.
Mike was born Feb. 27, 1970 in Fort Worth to Michael Paul and Sandra Kay Sitton Stark. He was a firefighter with Local IAFF 3113.

Lee Ramon Thompson, Jr., 72, died in Haltom City, Texas on June 16, 2015.

He was a truck driver for James D. Vandever for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Harriett; his sons, Vearl, Stuart, and Lee; and his daughters, Linda and Christina.

Lois was born in Henrietta, Texas to Clyde Southerland and Pearl Lindsay. She married Jerald Anders in Hawaii on June 7, 1976.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Michael Eugene Wells.

Services were held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at White’s Azle Chapel. Interment was at Clifton Lutheran Cemetery, Clifton, Texas.
Madge was born in Cranfills Gap, Texas, May 5, 1924 to Juanita and Ove Anderson. She lived in this area about five years. The family then moved to West Texas and resided in Lorenzo. Madge attended school at Estacado and Lorenzo. Later moved back to Cranfills Gap where she graduated from high school in 1941. Lester “Pop” Miller, 94, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015.
Services were held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at White’s Azle Chapel. Interment was in Ash Creek Cemetery.
Lester was born in Rawls, Texas Nov. 26, 1920 to William Harwell and Mollie Jane Miller. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Lester was an avid dancer and was the most kindhearted man you would ever want to meet. He enjoyed watching his son’s drag race. Lester lived in Azle for 70 years and was well-liked around town.
