Time for ball!

February 20, 2013

After a series of scrimmages, the 2013 Hornet baseball team is ready to get things in gear.
Azle will host Birdville, Mansfield Summit, South Grand Prairie, Northwest, Crowley, and Midland Christian in a rotational tournament, the Jerry Durant Classic Feb. 21-23.
AHS coach Anthony Barron said all three Hornet squads are “coming on great.”
Headded, “Some players have really stepped up this year. We should get a lot of help from our seniors.”
Barron said Azle shone against visiting Joshua Feb. 16.
Returning players include Will Bagby, Slayton Vaughan, Colton Carpenter, and Chase McBay.
On Feb. 21, AHS opens the season against No. 2 in 4A Birdville at noon.
