William “Bill” Tennison (Uncle Bill), 89, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013.
Bill was born Nov. 16, 1923, to Loid Evert and Lillie Pearl Tennison. He served with the United States Army during World War II during which time he was held as a P.O.W. by the German military for six months until he was liberated by the Russian army. He and his brother, Loid were the owners of Tennison Brothers Violin and Music Store for many years until retirement in 1991. He was a faithful and longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church where he served in many capacities throughout the church. He was married to Jewel Carey on Nov. 13, 1943, in Fort Worth.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Carey Tennison; brother, Loid Tennison; sister, Joyce June Tennison Andrews and husband, Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
