No one should go hungry and that includes local children – especially children.
To that end, the Summer Nutrition Program for children 18 and younger is under way in the Azle area.
Paid for by the United States Department of Agriculture and program sponsors, children can receive free meals at three sites locally.
No registration is required and there are no requirements to prove age or income.
Azle High School, 1200 Boyd Road, and Santo Forte Junior High, 479 Sandy Beach Road, offer breakfast and lunch.
Breakfasts are served from 7:30-9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Lunch times are 11:30-noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The meals end June 27.
Lunches are offered at Pelican Bay Park, 1300 Pelican Bay Circle from 11-noon Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until August 16.
