Wanted: female golfers.
Azle has a super golf course so why not train some girl golfers from the area?
That’s the concept Beverly Simants is involved in.
She’s the “site director” of a new girls golf program slated for Cross Timbers Golf Course.
The program is sanctioned by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and the United States Golf Association (USGA).
The developmental program targets ages 7 to 17 with hopes of becoming a network for girls to not only play the sport but “build friendships and sample competition in a positive and supportive learning environment,” Simants noted.
