We use it every day to brush our teeth, take a shower and clean the dishes. And most of us probably take it for granted that when we turn on that tap, water will flow. Ensuring that we have an adequate supply of water is one of the most important, and difficult, policy challenges facing our growing state.
More than 1,000 people move to Texas every day. Over the next fifty years our population is expected to nearly double, and in Tarrant County our demand for water is projected to increase by over 50 percent. During the same time, without action, our water supplies are projected to decline.
