There is a saying: “Travel is broadening.” I’ve always joked that it is because one sits a lot of airplanes or cars and eats more rich food than one ordinarily would do, thus adding inches to ones derriere. What the expression really means, though, is that one broadens his/her mind, knowledge, by learning something new with travel.
I certainly enjoyed that definition back in September when I traveled to Borger, Texas to a program on the Adobe Walls battle and then a trip to the site. (I already covered this trip in my October 10, 2013 column.) In fact, I learned more than just about Adobe Walls.
