Charles (Charlie) Grace, 86, of Plano, Texas passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Azle, Texas on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made as Mass Offerings or to the Shriner’s Hospital.
He was born in Detroit, Illinois on July 28, 1927, to the late Charles Gilbert Grace and Sarah Ellen Grace. Charlie traveled extensively with the Air Force for 23 years and as an employee of Defense Contractors. He met his wife while they were working in the Congo and loved telling their story as well as plenty of other globetrotting stories to everyone. He married Phyllis Warchal on Nov. 6, 1965. They had one daughter, Mary Grace.
Charlie was a beloved member of the Azle community for over 30 years. He was active in the Azle Masonic Lodge, Eagle Mountain Shrine Club, Golden Gloves and his church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He loved supporting charities that benefited children. He retired from General Dynamics in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Grace; daughter, Mary Grace Bell; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a very large extended family which he loved very much.
