Members of Fort Worth Police Department’s Zero Tolerance tactical unit set up surveillance on a man referred to as a “prolific offender” Monday afternoon, July 29 off Nine Mile Azle Road just outside the city limits. When the man left his residence in a vehicle and realized he was being followed by police, he jumped out and attempted to escape on foot. No less than four FWPD Zero Tolerance units gave chase and the man was apprehended near Nine Mile Azle Road’s intersection with Agate Place. He was checked out by Azle Fire Department paramedics before being taken into police custody. Traffic on Nine Mile Azle Road was interrupted for about half an hour.
