Sting Fling triumphant over stormy weather forecast

Despite a forecast that called for an 80 to 100 percent chance of rain, the 6th Annual Sting Fling Festival went on Saturday, Sept. 28 as planned, but ended early in the face of heavy rains.

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Azle Area Chamber of Commerce, Sting Fling drew as many as 5,000 people before noon – when the deluge came – said Beth Crowe, executive director of the chamber.
