Pelican Bay police chief makes changes

Department addresses ‘negative attention’

With city council approval of Jason Farris to serve as interim police chief in Pelican Bay, the department is implementing new policies and procedures designed to remedy previous issues.

Farris, a five-year veteran of the department, began his tenure by promising to hold officers to the highest of standards and revoking a prior policy allowing officers to perform commissioned work for other agencies.
