Crime board sets budget; down $29,000 with cuts

Azle Chief of Police Rick Pippins presented the proposed 2017-18 fiscal year budget for the Azle’s Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) to the city council at its Aug. 1 meeting.
The presentation was part of a public hearing on the matter; acceptance of the proposed budget will be a part of a future council meeting.
The total proposed figure for the CCPD budget is $578,690.
Estimated revenue for the 2017-18 FY from the one-fourth of one percent sales and use tax that funds the CCPD is $462,500
