AHS students can keep iPads over summer for stellar attendance

Sam Robinson says school administrators have always known that students who actually show up for school do better overall.
That might sound elementary, my dear, but absences are one of the biggest obstacles to education.
“We’re always trying to get 96 percent attendance out of our students – that’s the benchmark we’re always shooting for,” Robinson explained. “So as we were trying to come up with ways to reward students for good attendance, we remembered that Dee Gilley, principal at Cross Timbers Elementary, gives her students who have perfect attendance a bike each year.”
