Motorcycle wreck victim dies

By Carla Noah Stutsman

The victim in a motorcycle accident that virtually shut down westbound traffic coming into Azle on SH 199 on Oct. 3 has died from his injuries.

Thomas Damon Bigbee, 50, of Springtown, died at 7:08 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Bigbee was flown from the scene of the accident, which occurred in the 700 block of SH 199, by a CareFlite air ambulance. At the time, both the Azle Fire Department and Azle Police Department believed he was being flown to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. The destination apparently changed mid-flight, and Bigbee was diverted to Texas Health FW.
