Official dispute sees Hunter, Basham, Trammell take oath twice

After the votes were canvassed, newly-elected Reno Mayor Eric Hunter, council member Place 2 John “JB” Basham, and council member Place 4 Larry “Skipper” Trammell were sworn into their respective offices at the regular city council meeting Monday evening, May 15.
The original agenda for the meeting, posted about 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, specified that Parker County Precinct 1 Commissioner George Conley would administer the oath of office to the newly-elected officials.
However, about 6:30 p.m. Friday – a half-hour before the deadline for posting the agenda – a revised agenda was posted, both at City Hall and on the city’s website.
Conley’s name was now missing from the revised agenda.
