Texas sales tax holiday provides savings for school-related items
The annual chance to save some cash arrives Aug. 9-11.
Texas Comptroller Susan Combs said shoppers can save money on certain items priced under $100 during the state’s yearly sales tax holiday.
Some items that are exempt from tax during the period: most clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks priced under $100.
Shoppers could save about $8 on every $100 they spend during the weekend.
