Breathing is something many of us take for granted. For Charles Roberson, it’s a task that gets more difficult with each passing day.
Roberson, a 47-year-old father of two, has suffered from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for more than 10 years. The progressive lung disease causes thickening and a loss of elasticity in the airways and air sacs in the lungs. This limits air flow and makes it hard to breathe.
