Jury duty scam continues to plague Tarrant residents

A jury duty scam is gaining momentum in Tarrant County and county officials want to educate the public to prevent further victims.
Citizens have been contacted by phone by a man who identifies himself as Lieutenant Allen with the Sheriff’s Office, Police Department, or Constable’s Office.
The caller informs the citizen they failed to report for jury duty and a fine has been assessed. The fine ranges from $2,000 to $4,000.
