Williams wins chute dogging championship

Two Azle High School rodeo athletes placed in a Finals rodeo and one was crowned a champion.
Michael Williams won the North Texas High School Rodeo Association chute dogging championship by 18 points after the dust had settled at Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth.
Williams edged Les Brock, Jr. of Northwest 1,074 to 1,056.
The Hornet cowboy also placed among the best of the best with a tie for fifth place in steer wrestling.
He and Dylan Oates of Northwest tied with 573 points.
Lady Hornet Parker Littlejohn also turned in a fine performance in the Finals.
She ended up sixth in breakaway roping with 719 points.
