Five place in weekly HS rodeos

A quintet of Azle High athletes placed in the two most recent North Texas High School Rodeo Association events.

On April 5-7 at the NTHSRA Saginaw arena, Parker Littlejohn led the way.

The AHS cowgirl won poles in 20.841 seconds to take 72 points. She also finished third in ribbon roping (11.979) for 57 more points.

The next week, Littlejohn finished seventh in poles in 21.895 for 31 points.

Michael Williams placed twice in the first rodeo. He won steer wrestling (4.363, 72 points) and took sixth in chute dogging (3.182, 37).

The next week he finished third in chute dogging in 2.87 for 57 more points.

Also placing in the first rodeo were Whitney Ford (6th, poles, 21.738, 37) and Audra Hodgson (6th, ribbon roping, 13.969, 37).

In rodeo two, Courtney Foust took sixth in pole bending in 21.776 to win 37 points.

The season is winding down with just three rodeos remaining. Nocona hosts April 26-28, sandwiched between a pair of two-day rodeos.
