A fire Thursday, March 13, inside a shop building in the 1700 block of Scotland Avenue caused the “complete loss” of the building itself as well as its contents, according to Tarrant County Deputy Fire Marshal Mike Rehfeld. The exact cause of the fire is not known; however, Rehfeld said it began in the immediate area of a lawn tractor the owner had just used and put away. Azle firefighters, still spraying foam onto a pickup that had been fully engulfed in flames moments earlier, work to open the hood so they can get to the source of the fire. The pickup caught fire Wednesday, March 3, about 6:30 p.m. as its driver and two passengers were northbound on FM 730 North, just north of the Sandy Beach Road intersection. Emergency personnel discuss how to get a vehicle out of its predicament while a crowd gathers around the vehicle’s two occupants, who were unharmed but a little shaken after this incident Thursday evening, Feb. 20.
