Azle’s popular Music in the Park’s finale at Central Park with Poo Live Crew had folks dancing the aisles – and kids dancing on the stage. The popular Poo Live Crew was inked to open the series in June but weather cancelled that appearance. Heavy rains overnight on July 24 washed away much of the detail, but sand sculptor Joaquin Cortez was back on top of the pile Monday afternoon. His work will be the centerpiece of the first Sand Sculptors Extravaganza at Twin Points Park Saturday, July 29. Dirt work and the clear-cutting of trees on two properties slated for new Azle schools – Azle Elementary on Lakeview Drive and Walnut Creek Elementary (above) on Stribling Drive North – have changed the landscape significantly.
