Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) Rich “Bubba” Terrett, a 1990 graduate of Azle High School, will retire from the United States Navy Feb. 28 after serving 24 years. Terrett served as an Electricians Mate for 10 years, and after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Leo University, was commissioned in the Navy Supply Corps via Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida in 2000. Terrett’s previous position was Aviation Support Officer (S-6) on board the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). His other sea tour was Supply Officer USS Pioneer (MCM-9). During his enlisted time, he served on the USS Patriot (MCM-7) and USS Scout (MCM-8). Shore assignments include his current position as Readiness Officer, Fleet Readiness Center Southwest; Supply Officer, Mind Countermeasures Squadron THREE; Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Ingleside; NAVSTA Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. Terrett has a daughter, Emily Terrett, who is a fifth-grader at Azle Elementary, and he is the son of Ann Robinson of Azle and R.D. Terrett of Paradise. He also has a sister, Debbie Guthmiller of Flower Mound.
