Texas reception held here
Christina Elizabeth Hicks and Samuel Ross Easterly exchanged marriage vows at The Woodlands at Algonkian in Sterling, Virginia, on March 29, 2014.
Reverend Julie Price of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Reston, Virginia performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Sharon and Thomas Hicks of Azle. She is a 2000 graduate of Azle High School and a 2004 graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. She earned her Master of Arts degree from Hunter College in New York City.
The groom is the son of Debra Easterly of Sewickley, Pennsylvania and Randy Easterly of Bentonville, Arkansas. He is a 2005 graduate of Schreyer Honors College at The Pennsylvania State University. He earned his master’s degree at Georgetown University’s Frank McCourt School of Public Policy in Washington, D.C.
Guests participated in a ring-warming ceremony in which both rings passed through each guest’s hands and were blessed before being exchanged by the bride and groom.
The bride wore a fit-and-flare ivory gown with ruched bodice, floral skirt and train, and pearl and crystal accents. She wore her mother’s veil, and her wedding band combines diamonds from both her grandmothers’ weddings. Her bouquet was comprised of blush and ivory peonies and roses.
The couple, along with the bride’s parents, enjoyed a Texas reception Saturday, April 5, hosted by Kathy Hufstedler, Virginia Abendschan, Janis Harris, Rita Heatley, Suzanne Murr, Diane Nutt, Dollene Price, Sharon Richardson and Jackie Spitzer. The reception was held at the Fellowship Hall of Azle Christian Church where the Reverend Stan Geisler, formerly of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, blessed the couple’s marriage.
The newlyweds plan to return to their home in Arlington, Virginia, after honeymooning in Hawaii.
