Seth Winn, a graduating sixth grader from Hoover Elementary, was picked to participate in Education in Action’s Lone Star Leadership Academy.
The honor student was selected based on his superior academic success, his demonstrated leadership ability, involvement in school and community activities, and the successful completion of a previous LSLA program.
Winn will attend Forte Junior Hall in August. In elementary school, he was a member of the Hoover Student Council, part of the Math and Science Team, the KC Club, and a player in the elementary school band.
He will join a delegation of students from many states who will learn about Texas. The group will stop at NASA, Galveston’s Moody Gardens, the San Jacinto Battleground Monument, the battleship Texas, Houston, and several museums.
Winn and the group will also take a boat ride on Galveston Bay with a marine biologist and stay overnight at the George Observatory.
The LSLA focuses on standout fourth through eighth graders in educating them about the Lone Star State.
