Devore O. Burch, 96, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18 in Greenwood Chapel and interment at Smithfield Cemetery in North Richland Hills. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Azle Good N.E.W.S. “Senior Citizens Outreach,” 133 E. Main, Suite B, Azle, Texas 76020.
Devore Burch was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Fort Worth to Dwight and Frances Burch. He was affectionately known as “Pops” to his grandchildren, as “Dee” to all his friends and was lovingly known as “Daddy” to his children. He was a general foreman at Lockheed Martin for 35 years. He was a member of the Fort Worth Elks Club, Masons, Shriners, and Wood Turners of North Texas. He was a master woodworker and trained many relatives and friends to become skilled woodworkers. He loved spending time with children and taught them to fly model airplanes, fly kites and ride coaster cars. He was a kind and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Mary Burch.
Survivors include his children, Carolynn Williams and special friend, Mr. Connie Caffey, Dewain S. Burch and wife, Judy, Mary Dee Moore and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Ron Williams, Russell Williams and wife, Patty, Marty Burch, Glenn Burch and Troy Moore; great-grandchildren, Chris Burch, Kasey Burch, Aly Todd and Marshall Williams; and great-great-granddaughter, Izzy Burch.
