Benny Coleman Bridges, 83, beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in Springtown.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at White’s Funeral Chapel in Springtown. Interment will follow in the Cottondale Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the funeral home.
Benny was born Sept. 18, 1930 in Boyd to the late Wright and Beatrice Bridges. On April 21, 1951 he married the love of his life, Mollie June Evans. Benny retired from the United States Navy and returned to the Springtown area to be close to family and friends.
Benny was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Bridges; son, Farley Bridges; brother, Billy Bridges; and sister, Peggy Arwine.
Survivors include his son, Floyd Bridges; daughters, Neva Bridges, Tina Morrow and husband, Jay and Nita Banks and husband, Landon; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Emilie Tackel and Pat Conn; brothers, Jimmy Dunlap and Dale Bridges; and many family members and friends.
