Ann Gaylan Matlock, 65, of Azle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully from a courageous battle with cancer in the evening hours of Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, to be with the lord.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at God’s Word of Life Church, 5701 Billings Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76135. Burial to follow at Old Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford.
Ann was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Fort Worth. She was a retired beauty operator and caregiver but her most cherished duty in life was being a mom and “Mimi”. Mimi, as known by most, loved animals, spending time with her grandchildren and watching movies. She married Dan Matlock on June 7, 1965. They were married for 48 years and had four children together. She loved them all unconditionally; they were her life.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James and Barbara Pittillo; maternal grandparents; daughter, Dana Gay; and sister, Reeca Arista.
Survivors include her husband, Dan; sons, Danny and fiancée, Brenda and Randall and wife, Kistan; daughter, Chanee and husband, Gary; sister, Tracy Wilkins and husband, Bubba; nephews, Russell Rowlls and wife, Jessica and Christopher Wilkins and wife, Shera; niece, Amanda Elliott and husband, Michael; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; dog, Boudreaux; and many extended family members.
