Azle firefighter/paramedics and Eagle Mountain paramedics rescue a man, believed to be in his 50s, through the top of his pickup following a collision with a garbage truck in the 11000 block of Liberty School Road just south of Sandy Beach Road. The pickup smashed through a vine-covered fence line as it rolled over. Although the accident report could not be obtained before press time, a Pelican Bay police officer who worked the accident Monday afternoon, July 15, said the driver of the pickup, who was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle with non-life-threatening injuries, is believed to have suffered a medical episode that caused him to cross into the garbage truck’s lane.
