TCEQ fine results in extra cleanup for city residents

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has assessed the city of Azle penalties totaling $14,000 for two violations of the city’s waste water treatment plant permit.

However, the city has agreed to perform a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) – in this case, a one-day city-wide cleanup (in addition to the two cleanups the city typically holds annually) – rather than pay the fine to the TCEQ.
