Zebra mussels invasion possibly in Lake Worth now

They may have come from Eurasia, but they’ve likely made it to Lake Worth now.

The invasive zebra mussel – already a troublesome infestation in North Texas lakes – has moved through here and has advanced into Central Texas.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is monitoring 23 state reservoirs, and over the spring and summer, two more lakes were added to the “possible presence of zebra mussels” – Lakes Worth and Joe Pool.
