Summer kickoff party June 8

Reading is fun, and the Azle Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Clubs will prove that once again with an all-day kickoff party Friday, June 8.
Stop in that day to register for Summer Reading and have fun at the same time. Everyone who registers is eligible for a spin at the Prize Wheel.
Plus, if you come between 2-4 p.m., you can enjoy some cake, get your face painted, and take pictures with Buzzy, the Azle Hornet mascot, and Elvis.
Stop by the library or log on to www.azlelibrary.org for complete information.
Just for kids
The Children’s Summer Reading Club is tailor-made for kids ages birth to 12 years.
Participants who read (or are read to) at least five hours are eligible to receive an ice cream treat and a ticket voucher to a Texas Rangers summer baseball game.
Build a brag tag chain by collecting a special tag and beads as you read.
Read at least 15 hours to become eligible to win a Kindle Fire Kids Edition, passes to area attractions, and more.
Plus, enjoy the library’s free Terrific Tuesday professional performances beginning June 12.
Storytime is on Wednesdays and watch out for extra-special events on designated Thrilling Thursdays, including family STEM and art programs.
Teens love reading
The Teen Summer Reading Club for ages 13-18 is sure to please the teenager in your life with tempting incentives to keep them reading and learning all summer long.
Teens who read five hours will earn a mystery prize – and a free book at 10 hours.
Teens who read 15 hours-plus will be entered into a drawing to win awesome prizes like a Kindle Fire, a drone, and gift cards.
Anyone 18 can choose between the Teen or Adult Summer Reading Clubs.
Adults can read, too
The 7th annual Adult Summer Reading Club is for those ages 18 and older.
Participants who read five hours or more will be eligible to win great prizes. Winners will be announced at the Finale Party on July 31.
Several events are planned for adults this summer, including Book BINGO, featuring food and door prizes; a jazz performance for all ages; a craft day DIYing music-themed coasters; and a program on music and meditation.
The 2018 Summer Reading Clubs are made possible through the generosity of the City of Azle, the Azle Library Trust, and other generous donor.
The Azle Memorial Library is located at 333. W Main St. in Azle. Call (817) 444-7216 if you need additional information.
