Proposed budget approved means no tax rate hike in Tarrant County

August 14, 2013

If the proposed budget presented to the Tarrant County Commissioners Court is approved, county residents will see no tax increase.

The current tax rate would remain: $26.4 cents per $100 valuation.

A home in Tarrant County with a value of $100,000 would be taxed $264.

The proposed budget is $532,128.951.

Compared to the other five largest urban counties in Texas – El Paso, Travis, Harris, Bexar, and Dallas – Tarrant has the second lowest tax rate.
