On Saturday, June 7, a co-ed softball tournament benefits Larry Kasner to pay his mounting cancer treatment medical bills. The cost is $150 per team with all games set for Azle’s Shady Grove Park. A home run derby is also slated.

Church, health dept. offer classes

The Tarrant County Public Health Department is offering this summer two free classes – “Freedom from Smoking” and “Chronic Disease Self-Management” at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Azle. The classes, both six weeks long, are free to Tarrant County residents and are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday morning/afternoon, time to be determined by interested participants.

Reno VFD annual fish fry May 24

The Reno Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Fish Fry Saturday, May 24, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the fire station, 185 W. Reno Road.
