News office closes for Labor Day

The Azle News office will close Monday, Sept. 1, so employees may celebrate Labor Day with their families.
Because of this, the deadline for the Sept. 3 edition of the paper will be Friday, Aug. 29, at 5 p.m.

Spillway lane closure slated Monday

The Tarrant Regional Water District has announced plans to close one lane of traffic on Wells Burnett Road on top of the Eagle Mountain Spillway Dam Monday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m.-12 noon. Flagmen will be on site to help motorists navigate the narrow roadway. Routine maintenance on the dam is cited as the reason for the temporary lane closure.… Read the rest

F’ball 2-a-days looming

It’s football time in Texas again, and the Hornets will begin the 2014 season with two-a-day practices Monday, Aug. 11.
Azle, again led by Devon Dorris, will hit the field for two weeks then will play its only scrimmage, at home against Burleson Friday, Aug. 22.
After school starts Monday, Aug. 25, practices move to after school.
