Billy Howard Stewart 1934 – 2017

Billy “Bill” Stewart, 81, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, at First Baptist Church of Castle Hills in Azle. Committal with military honors will be at 2:15 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Azle. He was a deacon for First Baptist of Castle Hills for 58 years. He worked for Texas Reconstruction for 22 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Oma Nell Stewart.
Survivors include his children, Gary and Mary Stewart of Fort Worth, Tim and Sheri Stewart of Azle, Stephanie and Mike Baker of Trophy Club, and Stephen and Ronnette Stewart of Azle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.… Read the rest

Johnny Lane Welch, 79, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Monday, April 17, 2017.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Johnny was born Nov. 9, 1937 in Tyler to William and Virgie Welch. He was a hard worker, having worked for Robertson Fleet over 40 years.
Johnny enjoyed woodworking, working with his hands, doing jigsaw puzzles, spending time at flea markets and going to Las Vegas with Karen.

Elizabeth was born in Lake Worth on Jan. 12, 1943 to James and Myrtle Mae McMullen. She was a lifelong resident of the Eagle Mountain Lake area and a charter member of Eagle Mountain Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed life. Elizabeth enjoyed fishing, traveling and listening to country gospel music.

Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20 at 10:30 at Outreach of Love Church, 3591 E. Highway 199 Springtown, where she served with the Women’s Ministries and was an active member for many years.
The family requests honor donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, whom she supported for many years.
Betty Jean was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Nov. 25, 1928, to Robert Milton Harris and Wilma E. Ellis Harris. She, with her husband, owned a carpet store in Fort Worth for many years before they retired to Springtown.… Read the rest

Michael was born Dec. 24, 1968 in Fort Worth and graduated from Dripping Springs High School. He served proudly in the Marine Corps for eleven years and was part of Desert Storm. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and fishing.

Louis was born Dec. 4, 1949 in Sacramento, California to Louis and Leola La Chapelle.
He honorably served his country in The United States Army. Louis will be greatly missed by all that who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Rene La Chapelle; son, Louis La Chapelle; stepsons, Michael Crowder and wife, Shalya Madden and Jeffrey Crowder and wife, Kendra; six grandchildren; and numerous cousins.

Byron Joseph (BJ) Rogers passed away on Jan. 15, 2017 at the age of 68.
Memorial service will be held on April 9, at 2 p.m. at the Harbor Group AA, 3000 West 5th St. Fort Worth, 76107.
Byron was born in Springfield, Illinois on March 23, 1948. He was a resident of Azle for 25 years and was retired from the USAF.
Survivors include his wife Shirley; two sons, Matthew and Sean Rogers from Fayetteville, Georgia; two daughters, Tara and Ashley and son-in-law, Donnie; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Clarence, Kiara, Sidney, and Lonnie Reese and other relatives and friends.
