Billie Maurine Sisk Heffington went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 9, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13 at Jaybird Cemetery in Parker County.
Billie was born July 26, 1946, in Parker County. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lena Sisk; brother, Donald Sisk; and husband, Gerald Heffington.

James “Jim” Wilson Bottoms, 69, a poet and journeyman electrician died Tuesday, May 28, 2013.
A memorial service was held Monday, June 10 at Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth.
Jim was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Worth.
Jim was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Like; and parents, Dota Mae Chipman and James E. Bottoms.
Survivors include his sister, Mary Frances Burkhart; brother, Sherill Wayne Bottoms; and a large extended family.

Riland D. Martin, 76, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013.
The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13 in Greenwood Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Riland was born June 11, 1936, in Comanche, Oklahoma. He was a longtime barber in Azle.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Martin; daughters, Susan Hudson and husband, Stan and Robin Miller and husband, Larry; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Eugene Martin and wife, Loraine; and sister, Bernice Gray and husband, Zane.

Laverl Wilson, 83, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at a Fort Worth Hospital with her loving family by her side.

The Azle High School auditorium was abuzz with excitement as various graduating seniors were presented with scholarships totaling more than $1.7 million Thursday morning, May 23.
Local scholarships – those awarded by businesses, organizations and individuals right here in the Azle area – totaled $96,750.
Military scholarships totaled $609,912, and outside scholarships – from an array of universities and colleges – totaled $1,016,070, bringing the total dollar amount for scholarships awarded to members of the Azle High School Class of 2013 to a whopping $1,722,732.

Erma Jones, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

Erma was born in Cisco to Robert and Nancy Murphy in 1924. She was a resident of Agnes for 23 years as well as a member of the Agnes Baptist Church. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed bird watching. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt to many.
Erma was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and husband of 70 years, David Jones.

William “Bill” Tennison (Uncle Bill), 89, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013.
Bill was born Nov. 16, 1923, to Loid Evert and Lillie Pearl Tennison. He served with the United States Army during World War II during which time he was held as a P.O.W. by the German military for six months until he was liberated by the Russian army. He and his brother, Loid were the owners of Tennison Brothers Violin and Music Store for many years until retirement in 1991. He was a faithful and longtime member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church where he served in many capacities throughout the church.… Read the rest

Tommy was born Oct. 29, 1954, in West Monroe, Louisiana to Billy Frantom Sr. and the late Gay Hibbard Frantom. He served five years in the United States Marine Corp., was a graduate of the University of Houston, owned and operated the Hot Skillet Restaurant in Alvord from 2002-2008 and Shinola’s Texas Cafe in Springtown since 2008.
