Rowena Grace Reynolds King, 88, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, in Azle.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23 in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Mrs. King was born Aug. 18, 1924, in Fort Worth to Henry Lee Reynolds and Grace Winnie Armstrong Reynolds. She married James Richard King on March 18, 1942, in Weatherford. They lived in Fort Worth for 23 years before building a new home in Euless, living there together for 28 years before Mr. King’s death Nov. 27, 1993. In Feb. 2003, Mrs. King moved to Springtown to be near family. She retired from the School of Nursing with The University of Texas System at Arlington on Jan. 31, 1985. She had been a longtime member of the Fort Worth Wedgwood Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Her life was filled with family and she was happiest with everyone around her. Her sweet smile and loving ways will be greatly missed.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years of marriage, James; both parents; brother, Kenneth Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Charles Connell Miller.
Survivors include her son, Gary R. King and wife, Sandra of Alvarado; daughter, Jimmie Wilson and husband, Robert of Springtown; sister, Eloise Miller, of North Port, Florida; sister-in-law, Juanita Roach and husband, John of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
