Kami Deann Hunter died in Harris Hospital, Fort Worth on Wednesday May 1, 2013, after a lengthy illness.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at Azle Church of Christ with a memorial service being held immediately after at 2 p.m.
Kami was born in North Richland Hills at Glenview Hospital. Growing up, she and her brother, Jeff lived in Azle with their father, Paul Hunter. Kami graduated from Azle High School in 1993. Later, she married Casey Hill with whom she had a son, Bryson Taylor Hill now 14. She attended The University of Texas at Arlington and was a computer science major. She worked as a waitress and was very efficient at that job. Then, after working briefly at Verizon, she became a Home Health Care worker for Helping Restore Ability and Outreach Health Services. Her attentive and caring attitude toward her clients was notable in her compassion and demonstrated dedication. Her clients were always well cared for.
Kami was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Gene and Donnie Johnston of Newark and Orella and Leona Hunter of Auburn, Alabama; and grandfather, Dr. W.K. Hunter “Pa-Pa Doc” of Azle.
Survivors include her son, Bryson Taylor Hill; father, William Paul Hunter; brother, Jeffrey Kyle Hunter; grandmother, Grace Imogene “Johnnie” Hunter (Memaw); friend, Raymond Norman; step-mother, Nancy Paton; step-sister, Stephanie Howard; step-brother, James Howard; aunts and uncles, David and Susie Hunter, Byron and Jené Hunter, Donna Hunter and friend, Rick Rousseau, David Cox and Cathy Hunter; cousins, Eric Hunter and wife, Loretta, Sean Hunter and wife, Nicole and their daughter, Sophie, Sarah Cox, Will Cox, Hunter Byron Cox, Anna (Hunter) Counts and husband, Austin and Kyle Hunter and wife; Amanda; and a host of other loved ones, friends and family.
