Dorothy Lee Taylor Penrod, 82, of Springtown passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona from injuries sustained in an accident.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3 at White’s Funeral Home in Springtown. Burial will follow at Authorn Cemetery in Garner. White’s Funeral Home of Springtown is in charge of the arrangements. A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 2.
This amazing woman known as Dottie by many was born Nov. 16, 1930, to Lloyd and Annie Mae Taylor. She has a brother, Billy who, along with her parents, preceded her to heaven. Born and raised in Garner, Dorothy graduated from Tech High School in 1949 in Fort Worth. Not long after, she was united in marriage to her late husband Charles Dillon Penrod on Dec. 2 and began making a family. Dottie was a beautiful, kind and generous soul who always put the well-being of others before herself. All those who knew her were blessed to have her in their lives. She will be missed.
Today, Dorothy is survived by her sons, Charles Dwain Penrod and wife, Dona of Azle, Ricky Wayne Penrod and wife, Analyn of Los Angeles and Gregory Allen Penrod of Springtown; daughters, Teresa Ann Griffin of Los Angeles and Connie Machelle Penrod of Seagoville; grandchildren, Jehromie, DeAnna, Brandiegh, Alan, Jared, Jordan, Emily, Amanda, Ross and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Alexus, Rhyan, Andyn, Samantha, Kylie and Oliver; several nieces and nephews including Michael Steven Penrod who always referred to her as Mom; aunt, Romayne McCreary, 92 years young of Weatherford; cousins; and numerous friends.
