Delegates from Azle High School joined nearly 5,000 students and advisors representing 400 student councils from across the state that converged on the Arlington Convention Center April 7-9 for the Texas Association of Students Councils (TASC) Annual Conference.
St. Agnes Academy from Houston hosted the conference, which is the largest gathering of student leaders in the United States.
This year’s theme, “Celebrating Diversity, Uniting in Leadership,” urged student councils to identify problems in their schools and communities, make plans to remedy the problem and unite students in enacting a solution.
“We appreciate our principal, Mr. [Sam] Robinson, for allowing us to attend this conference,” said one AHS student council member. “We will use what we learned to become better leaders in our school and community.”
