Azle High School’s math and science team competed Saturday, April 20, at the University Interscholastic League Regional Academic contest on the Hardin-Simmons University campus, finishing as the third place team in Region I both number sense and calculator.
Sophomore Colten Clearwater took sixth individually in the number sense contest and junior Kylie Lucas placed fifth in the calculator applications contest.
Only the top three individuals and the top team advance to state competition in May; therefore, Azle’s math and science competition has ended for this school year.

Practices will wind down considerably, but because three quarters of the team are underclassmen, the program looks forward to an even better outing for the 2013-2014 school year.
